The King’s Chambermaid on Candy AIpalace intrigue with an ambitious servant

What The King’s Chambermaid is about

Trapped in a loveless royal marriage, the king falls for Faye Corin, the servant who dresses him each morning. Nothing in the castle escapes the queen, and Faye, who came up from the kitchens, has ambitions far beyond a secret affair.

Think costume drama with an affair at its centre. The setting is a royal court, the man at its head is unhappy in a marriage of state, and the woman he notices is Faye Corin, a servant whose daily duty is helping him dress. The premise makes clear that Faye has risen from the kitchens and is aiming much higher, which turns a forbidden romance into a power play.

The queen is the third force. In a household where she misses nothing, every private moment becomes a risk, and that sense of watchfulness is what the setup sells. Unlike the witch, dragon and vampire premises elsewhere in our Fantasy category, this one mentions no magic or creatures; the fantasy is the period setting and the social gap between a ruler and his servant.

All characters are adults, and Candy's cast list names only Faye Corin, so the king and queen remain titles rather than names on the public page.

Episode guide

The guide below lists all 5 episodes; Candy's help center puts every Shorts episode at under two minutes. Candy gives no episode titles here, so the table marks only where the free run ends and the token-priced episodes start.

Is The King’s Chambermaid free?

Partly: Faye's story opens with 2 free episodes of 5. Episode 1 opens on candy.ai without any account, and a free account unlocks Episode 2. Each of the remaining 3 costs 12 tokens, which puts the full story at 36 tokens.

That is the standard price shared by every Fantasy series in our similar list below, so you are not paying extra for the costume setting. Premium includes 100 tokens a month, more than enough for this one.

How explicit is it?

Heat 3/5 · Explicit: Nudity and sex scenes in the paid episodes, with the story taking much of the runtime.

Heat 3, Explicit: this is the baseline for public series, and it holds until an editor has watched The King’s Chambermaid from start to finish. Maid and Fantasy, Candy's two tags, are genre labels for the setting and Faye's role; they say nothing about how much is shown. The court intrigue has the free episodes to itself, and the nudity and sex scenes come in the paid ones, where Faye's ambition and the queen's watchfulness still take a good part of each episode.

What each level of access gets you

A single standard series needs only 36 tokens to finish, so unlocking the paid episodes with tokens is the cheapest route. If you plan to work through the court and fantasy titles listed below as well, Premium's monthly allowance of 100 tokens will cover several of them, from $3.99 a month on a yearly plan. Compare the two on our pricing page.

Where to watch the full episodes, and where not to

Candy.ai is the only place it streams, inside Candy Shorts. Sites that claim to host “The King’s Chambermaid full episode free” are usually clips stolen from elsewhere or bait for payment details, and they are not worth the risk to your device or your card.

If you liked it: similar series

Each of these keeps the same baseline Explicit rating and standard price, with a different flavour of fantasy: The Prince’s Last Week Unwed is the closest, another royal affair at court, with a step-cousin and a wedding deadline; The Witch Who Made Me King shares the royal-power theme, Dragon Queen’s Dark Desire moves the crown into myth, and She’s Not Real swaps the palace for a virtual-reality game.

More like this: all Fantasy series.

Our verdict

The King’s Chambermaid is worth trying if you want an affair story with a plot engine behind it. Faye's ambition and the queen's watchfulness give it more structure than a simple attraction setup, and the period setting is a change from the domestic premises that fill much of Candy's library. Its limit is focus: with Faye's scheming given so much room, it may feel slow to anyone who wants the strongest scenes. For 36 tokens it costs what every Fantasy series costs, which makes it a cheap way to try a period setting on Candy.

Pick it over The Prince’s Last Week Unwed if you want a servant's ambition, not a royal's past, driving the affair. Skip it if you want magic or a higher heat level. Start free with Episode 1, register for Episode 2, and decide from there.

Best for: Viewers who like period settings, secrets and a scheming heroine
